NATURE'S WAY
Nature can be a compelling force
Drawing us to experience a vision,
Of the glory that surrounds us,
Absorbing us in a communion of life itself.
The ocean - walking along the beach
Sand shifting under our feet,
As rolling waves, breaking along the shore
Echoing a subdued but audible song
Of a constant yet ever-changing environment.
A light wind comes off of the water
Touching us with a tantalizing refreshment.
FEEL IT!
The mountaintop - overlooking all creation
So bare below, yet standing above all life itself,
A place where violent winds can devastate
Yet give a surreal stillness.
A place that be so clear and bright
Yet turn to blackness within a breathes time.
FEEL IT!
The brook - water rushing over glistening moss covered stones
On a journey that nourishes all that comes in contact,
Circular motions around stones create swirls
Insects dart to and fro, tadpoles flickering
Feeding upon and being fed to sustain life.
To nourish all living creatures that pass by
To live and give life.
FEEL IT!
NATURE'S WAY - FEEL IT! - VISION IT!
HEAR IT! - LOVE IT! - LIVE IT! - CHERISH IT!
TAKE all you want - ABSORB all to your utmost capacity
CHERISH everything that is this GIFT TO YOU
However, leave only your footprints through this journey .
And you will be truly blessed with an insight
That many people will never learn in a lifetime.
HOW TO HEAR - AND NOT BE DEAF
HOW TO SEE - AND NOT BE BLIND
HOW TO BE ALIVE - A life of fulfillment and joy
Beyond all understanding.
A CELEBRATION OF YOURSELF!
A Special Place
Pine trees overlook a small clearing
Fresh fragrances infusing - sweet to the senses
Rising above the stillness to fill the air,
Evoking a tranquility can be seen and felt
By those who know of this special place.
I envision images of the inhabitants of this place
Playing with butterflies -dancing with the forest
Songbirds singing a musical melody - a song of joy
That is offered for all to enjoy.
For here their spirits are free and alive
Free of hunger, thirst and pain-
For their is no suffering in this place,
Only a freedom that comes after passing on-
From this world to the next.
They are very much alive here in the hearts
Of those that seek after them - For much heartfelt
Love was given and is returned to those,
Who know they are blessed as being guardians.
The spirit of these creatures will be a gift that remains
With us as a celebration of their life,
That will remain with us till our time comes to pass it on.
I dedicate this poem to Barefoot, through whose wisdom and
unselfishness, is a true guardian of God's creatures. The world
around us, our natural world, is so very precious. It is being
destroyed through greed and ignorance at a devistating rate. Why
are so many blind to the fact that that nature is a gift to all
mankind to be appreciated and respected. A gift that soothes the
mind and soul of those that seek solitutide and rest. A gift that
can fill our spirits with peace and harmony. A gift that is so
very vital to our everyday existence. Thank-you Barefoot, for
you also are a gift to all of us that love and respect our natural
world - we are blessed by you touching us with your kindness.
