Humanity

Morning is cloaked with dark clouds
As if night had not passed through
Silent anticipation fills my spirit
Thoughts of uncertainty dwell within me
Senseless in direction and reason;
Streaks of light cascade across the sky
Lightning bolts profusely erupt from the heavens
Violently striking the earth at will
Thunder clapping with authority follows
Overpowering - Intimidating - Fury released
Merciless to all in it's path,
An assault upon humanity.

My eyes perceive an anguished world
Power and control forsake respect
As humanity and compassion succumb
To greed and self-vested interest
Enshrouded with lies and deception
Truth displaced with falsehood
Honesty becomes subrogate to deviousness
As I am presented a vision - A vision without sight
A future that is non-existent.
